Jim Cramer’s Stop Trading
Buy Owens-Illinois (OI), Jim Cramer said on CNBC’s “Stop Trading!” segment Thursday. Cramer thinks OI could see some buying interest because the company’s glass bottles are safe from toxins found in plastic bottles. “At a certain point we’re going to come around to the fact that Glass doesn’t have toxins,” he said. He thinks glass will make a major comeback among consumers as they move away from plastic. Cramer moved on to Joy Global (JOYG), which Cramer said reported a monster-good quarter. He explained that JOYG would have been up $8 had it not been for bearish action in Peabody (BTU) and Arch Coal (ACI). “Joy Global is the answer to getting the Saudi Arabia of coal and the U.S. back in its rightful place, he said. Cramer told viewers he is sticking with his buy call on MasterCard (MA). “How many times have I said MasterCard on the show. Stick with MasterCard.” Finally, Cramer commented on TheStreet.com’s Doug Kass, who has now turned bullish on Citigroup (C), Wells Fargo (WFC) and Bank of America (BAC). Kass said it’s possible that this is a generational opportunity to buy the bank stocks. Cramer said he isn’t sold on the idea because too many things would have to happen right like - a better housing market, lower unemployment and better management at Citigroup. “If Kass is right, You’re gonna have a rip snorting bull here,” Cramer said.
