Cramer says Buy Nvidia

Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) is the smartest and best way to play the netbook explosion,” Jim Cramer told viewers of his Wednesday “Mad Money” TV show. He said the ultra small, ultra cheap computers represent a huge secular growth trend for the firm. “The company makes a line of compact graphics processors, called the ION, that’s gaining significant traction,” Cramer said. More than 50 Ion-based products are scheduled to hit the market in 2009, and sales are looking strong. Also, Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ) is a client, and Cramer called the company “the single best account you can have.” What about Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NYSE: AMD)? Cramer mentioned that AMD had taken market share in the graphics processor market, but Nvidia has fought back. Cramer sees Nvidia benefiting from increased netbook sales, rising enterprise product sales and the company’s new energy-efficient chips. He also sees a bump in business from the upgrade cycle for Microsoft’s (NASDAQ: MSFT) Windows 7 and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) Snow Leopard operating systems. “I’m not abandoning AMD, but we really have to get behind this competitor and do it right now,” Cramer said. Another reason to like Nvidia is their record-low inventory levels and its 60% to 70% gross margins. There’s also a mobile Internet play with Nvidia’s Tegra chips for portable gadgets. Cramer told viewers now’s the time to give Nvidia a second look. Get the scoop on tomorrow’s hottest trade ideas – TODAY! BeaconEquity.com PREMIER PICKS have an amazing track record.
