CEO Interview Brown-Forman
Jim Cramer thinks analysts are too bearish on Brown-Forman. He explained that Lehman Brothers (LEH), Goldman Sachs Group (GS) and J.P. Morgan (JPM) all have had sell ratings on the stock while it rose $10. Cramer welcomed Paul Varga, president and CEO of Brown-Forman (BFB) to the show to discuss his thoughts on the negative view of his company on Wall Street. Varga said the U.S. market has been tough this year, but Wall Street isn’t taking into consideration the company’s success abroad. “The company has at least some exposure to all the biggest countries,” Varga said, “but we’re at such small levels of market share that the upside is still very, very large.” He went on to say that Brown is expanding its brand recognition and separating itself from the competition. Varga explained that the company is looking to make acquisitions of high-quality brands when the opportunity presents itself. Cramer said he likes the stock for the overseas growth and he advised investors to pull the trigger and buy.
