Boomers Drugs
The aging baby boomer market is good for the drug stocks. Cramer covered a few ailments and which companies that you should look at in relation to the boomer that may make you money in the future.
High blood pressure: GSK, BMY, MRK, PFI, LLY, and SNY.
Erectile Disfunction: PFE, LLY, and GSK.
osteoporosis: PG, LLY, and MRK.
3 callers in this segment:
1. Tom asked if hospitals holding buying power over drug company’s were better plays in the market? Cramer felt there are too many factors in hospitals to recommend just on the strength of having buying power.
2. Lynn asked about generic drug stocks. Cramer felt that these companies own nothing except the manufaturing plant and they have cost too much money to people over the years to own any generic stocks.
3. John asked which disease is best to look at for investing in the future? Cramer zeroed in on cholesterol drugs.
Replacable Parts
Orapedic implants are going to be big business in the future. Cramer cited three companies that deal in hip, knee, and spine replacements. Zimmer (ZMH), Stryker (SYK), and Biomet (BMET). The short-term will see these three loose pricing power short term, but long-term the market is growing. The market for these companies did $22 billion worth of business in 2004 and this can only go up. Do not just buy one of these three and sit on them though. Do your homework and watch to see which one emerges as best of breed.
2 callers in this segment:
1. Laurette asked if we should go with equiptment makers or gyms? Cramer was bullish on LTM and bearish on BFT. Mixed on NLS.
2. Joanne – invest in purely medical or general health care stocks? Cramer referred to himself as Mr. UNH and then proceeded to blast JNJ as a supermarket no specific enough a market.
Radio Show No Show
Apparently Jim Cramer is on vacation again. He had a guest host for his radio show, so we wont be posting any radio picks today. Good luck trading to all of our readers.
Trouble with Blogger
I apologize for not having the posts up, I posted and for some reason there was trouble with Blogger, I am trying to get things sorted out. I thank you for your patience.
Lightning Round

Coach (COH), Harman (HAR), Nordstrom (JWN), Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSO), Xcel Energy (XEL), Google (GOOG), Yahoo! (YHOO), Puget Energy (PSD), SCP Pool (POOL), Plug Power (PLUG), Headwaters (HW), FuelCell Energy (FCEL), Terex (TEX), GameStop (GME), Activision (ATVI), Valero Energy (VLO), Northfield Laboratories (NFLD), Procter & Gamble (PG), Radiation Therapy Services (RTSX), Offshore Logistics (OLG), National Oilwell Varco (NOV), EnCana (ECA), Skyworks Solutions (SWKS), Sirius Satellite Radio (SIRI), XM Satellite Radio Holdings (XMSR) and Genesis Microchip (GNSS)
Bearish:
AT&T (T), Time Warner (TWX), Baidu.com (BIDU), LeapFrog Enterprises (LF), Albemarle (ALB), AvalonBay Communities (AVB) and Alcoa (AA)
Abrupt turn on Energy
With oil topping $70 a barrel, Cramer did an abrupt turn from viewing solar in a bearish way to thinking it doesn’t look so bad right now. Cypress Semiconductor (CY) is the best of breed because it comes without the risk many companies in this field do. CY controls the best solar technology out there. Called SunPower, it generates up to 50% more electricity than competition. “This company has atleast a 5 point upside,” Cramer says.
Jack and SoCo
On the phone today was CEO of Brown-Forman (BFB) Paul Varga. Varga discussed how the company’s two trademark brands have been revitalized in the market by targeting a younger crowd. Cramer made the observation that people in their 20’s and 30’s who used to drink Bud were now turning to Jack Daniel’s and Southern Comfort, this trend made him bullish on BFB.
Drugs
Up 9% from its public offering about a month ago, Adams Respiratory Therapeutics (ARXT) remains bullish to Cramer. On both his radio and t.v. show he gave this company a boost as a “long-term winner.” Cramer believes that it is a good posibility that a variation on its Mucinex drug will be granted market exclusivity by the FDA. If this happens ARXT’s revenues will triple.
Which drug company has the strongest growth potential? Cramer’s pick – Genentech (DNA)
Fed Proof Housing
Cramer said start ringing the register on any housing stocks that you may own that operate inside the U.S. There is no stopping Greenspan from destroying the housing market in this country. What then does Cramer recommend? Homex Development Corp. (HXM). The fed can not bulldoze this company because it does business in Mexico. Put worries about investing in Mexico out of your head. HXM has tripled sales in the last 3 years while aquiring CasaBeta. This aquisition is good for the company. Furthermore the Mexican government and banks are starting to give more and more loans to the middle class. This has the market booming in because previously credit was not available to the average person. Your best bet is to find a way to make a fed proof housing investment, and that bet is HXM.
Two callers in this segment:
1. Mike from New York – Is CIB still a good investment? Cramer said that CIB was still a good place for making money. Not as good as when he recommended it awhile back but any country that doesn’t depend on oil for its economy is worth a look.
2. Adam from New York – Where is it good to invest internationally? Cramer went back to the point that he made with the last question. Any economy that doesn’t rely on oil to work is a good place to look.
